Looked pretty run down as I walked past (on a late Wednesday evening)....wasn't tempted inside as it looked a bit grim with chavs smoking fags by the only door . Maybe next time.....

Sorry got this place confused with Crabby Dicks around the corner.
The Heavitree was an ok pub for us, still good prices on pints and my pint of Carling was very refreshing.
The place was clean and had a good atmosphere.

7/10

We were dubious to go on into this pub with it's awful name!
However we could'nt have been more pleased with the place. The pub is an impressive size with a unique interior.
Unbelieveable price on drinks, pint of Carlsberg and Old English were at 2.20 a pint and were of good quality.
We were charmed by Crabby Dicks and will be back.

10/10

Interior has been altered since my last visit and bar moved to no real detriment. Bit of a shame the lovely old floor tiles now lie under laminate planking, however. One lonely pump of Otter, in very good nick. Still a very friendly pub with slick service.

Friendly pub, friendly locals too. Not grand, but a proper pub. Only real ale I could see was Otter when I went in. Quite a few signs up around the bar warning of the dangers of drink (can contribute to domestic violence etc) which put me off a bit, but there seems to be little need for them.

Decent town pub. Good service and friendly locals.

ALBERTFACT: This pub has a three-coloured tiled floor in common with several other pubs in Bideford. The reason? Back in the oldene dayes, an italian ship carrying tiled ran aground in the Torridge estuary. To refloat the ship, they had to get the cargo off ... thousands of floor tiles. Good news for the pubs of Bideford, and a few houses, too.

Characterful corner pub with some nice old etched glass and tilework. Some of the punters are real characters. Seen the old bloke with the decorated bicycle.?

Nice corner boozer with some original features like the windows and floor tiles surviving. Friendly and relaxed.
