Like its sister The Quayside, it serves very fine ale (Skinners and Sharps). It's very pleasant inside too and hasn't been done up in ages. Pleasant to sit outside in summer. Very friendly staff. Decent food. It's a good pub to go on a summer evening after a hard day at the beach or sailing.

Good real ales, including the excellent Skinners Heligan Honey. A pleasant pub to sit outside, and they turned a blind eye to our munching a pasty in contravention of the rules. Steep stairs to the toilet in the Chain & locker though!

We had lunch here a couple of weeks ago. It was a pleasant day and most customers sat outside at the quayside tables. The beer was good, and the food just about ok, but the service was very poor. There were two young barmaid/waitresses who occasionally found time to serve the thirsty waiting drinkers between delivering much delayed food orders. Nice enough pub in a good location, but seemed lacking in management direction.

Proper old time pub with good ales

Good range of Cornish Ales. Had many happy evenings sitting outside on a nice, warm evening.

Best choice of beer in Fralmouth from this nautical legend. The Chainlocker is a big sprawling beast of a pub with seating spilling out over the quayside for those keen on witnessing seagull attacks. Reasonably priced unadventurous food and a good selection of ales, the pub is lively without being intimidating and is a an excellent place to watch the sun set (or rise) over the harbour.

I've been to the Chainlocker quite a few times on my recent visits to Falmouth. A really good pub, great location next to the harbour, good beer and food; good decor, too.

Completely agree with Howard and Sue. A regular of mine The Chainlocker provides a great selection of ales, normally skinners Cornish Knocker,Blonde, Heligan Honey along with guest ales including Lizard Point, food is well priced, Great live music and good mix of students and locals alike. In the nicer end of the high street aswell.

Wonderful, characterful, rambling, quayside pub, walls crammed with genuine nauticalia above assorted furnishings and bare floorboards. Proud of its local real ales and sensibly priced bar meals (which we enjoyed), it can get busy but the bright and cheerful staff seem to enjoy it that way. The picnic-sets outside on the quay (shared, incidentally, with the nearby Quayside Inn)are a great place to while away an hour or two whilst watching the activity in the busy harbour beyond.
