This place has now CLOSED DOWN and is being demolished.

A creche with beer, over-run with kids and yobbish parents at the weekend. Rumoured to be closing again after the World Cup. I came out just as the police vans were arriving. Scored 1 for the Bank Top beers.

Now re-opened and finally doing real ale...of moderate quality but worth a pint
|
Closed and for sale.

Long time since I visited this site. Thank you God for your prompt reply, that's one in the eye for all the atheists. Still no sign of settled management of this pub. I live in hope.
|
Under new management again !!!! Let's hope it does better.

"It isn't so" - God.

Can no one make a success of this pub? It should have loads going for it. Good catchment area, easy access, spacious interior with a variety of room sizes. Bowling green, car parking, outside seating for the smokers. Kitchens for food preparation. Is it simply the fact that pubs, as a whole, are on the way out? Please God, say it isn't so.

I called in this week, they'd no bitter, the barman was texting whilst pouring me a pint of Guinness, I don't think I'll back.
|
looking a little tired these days, no real ales on and red wine served in a half pint glass, nice!!!!
|
Not a pub I would normaly go in, what a farce, it was full of idiots off there heads on God knows what, if there are any of the young girls over the age 17 I will eat my hat, never again. I felt like I was well over age.

Large open plan type pub with a good pint of Guinness, excellent meeting point as it's not too far from motorway. Best to avoid when the Wanderers are at home, or Friday afternoon when it is turned into what appears to be an unsupervised creche.
|
Rumoured to be up for sale, allegedly to build housing on the site.

Large, corporate(John Barras)pub aimed at Food, Families and Fooball. Definitely easier on the eye than it was in it's previous paint scheme. If you want a pub to take the wife and kids to to watch Sky Sport on the big screen, this is for you. Also has occasional music, usually in the form of singer + recorded backing.

The Greenwood has change for the better, no more sexy pink in the ladies toilets Hoorray!! Trust me it was awful. It's now very cosy and comfortable very home from home. The food was made to perfection and the staff make you feel welcome. The landlord (Alan) has done a wonderful job with the place. Credit due to him. Well worth a visit with or without the family. I'll definitly be returning.

Closed for refit at the moment, glad to see the back of the purple painted exterior. I think it's going to be improved for the better.
