The best of the four Glasgow Wetherspoons I tried.

Probably all down to staff and ambience.

Despite being in Sauchiehall Street it was not impersonal. Bar staff were very good. Beer was well kept.

Agreed that The State bar is a better boozer but I was impressed with the range of Scottish beers in this 'spoons bar. All in good nick and the staff were very helpful although the pub wasnt all that busy so they had a bit more time than usual. Charing Cross train station is just round the corner and there is even a bus terminus in Holland Street at the side so it's easy to get to here

6th and final pub of my afternoon before retiring to the hotel for a shower and change!

This large spoons in the popular Sauchihall St area was very busy at 6pm when I came in.

A good selection of Festival beers on tap and the 2 I had were fine.

Open plan interior.

Worth a look but the State bar opposite is a much nicer pub.

So I had two pints listed in the programme for the beer festival, both at 1.55. They were fine, but then I found a beer from the Isle of Skye, Cuillin Beast, so had a half of that. A 7% beer for 1.55 a pint!!! Unbelievable.

Onlt started using this place, most of the staff are excellent, one or two could be better and they know it.I am a great Real Ale lover, they have got a very good selection, the prices start at 1.65,you can't beat it,I go in after work about 2 o,clock till about 4 and find it rather good,it also has a good real ale following. 8/10

Called in last Saturday, waited 10 mins for service from the Manager, maybe its because I am a senior citizen, and not an 18 year old bimbo with busom heaving and fluttering eye lashes, he needs to pay more attention to whose turn it is, and not by gender, But my pint of Dark Island was exquisite, Note to Tim Martin, train your managers to the same standard as your staff.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

big pub- typical of Spoons. Quite run down, loads of dirty tables and glasses, and completely ignored by the staff.... stood at the bar for about 5 minutes before staff looked at us (there were only about 10 people in the place) ...waited another 7-8 minutes after that for service. Unacceptable!

Not a spoons 2 get overly excited about but serves its purpose, serving real ale in glasgow. :-) 7/10

Standard Wetherspoon's i.e. big soulless place, with more than it's fair share of scary drunks. Probably fine during the day-best avoid late on a Friday .

A Wetherspoon's Pub. Good quality beer and food. Scottish ales are generally served. Friendly bar staff. If you have a Scottish breakfast here check that you are not missing a rasher of bacon.
