Seems to run out off beers and ciders a lot...
There's always 'a delivery due tomorrow'
Big garden.

Dreadful for ale drinkers. One pump (Doom Bar dishwater) and a bar person who'll tell you the ale's "great" then when asked further, admit they don't actually drink ale. No bottled ale. Dismal place.

I don't know what this pub was like before it was taken over but I've heard it's completely different now. The pub is a really great place to spend an evening with friends. The downstairs is a fair size with big tables for large groups of friends to fit round (ideal for students!). There is a pool table at one end and on the night I went there was an evening of music provided by a mixtape affair. Great tunes, each one better than the last. The guys running this place have created a really relaxed chilled out place with a fun vibe. Getting there is easy too as the bus stop is literally straight outside the door (staggering distance!).
The menu is good quality and value for money.
In the summer the beer garden will be amazing as its massive and is currently being smartened up. This is a pub that I will be going back to!

A really friendly pub, great place to spend the evening. It's so much better than it was. Good food, and cool music, definitely something different for the area. I went to their monthly Saturday gig amixtapeaffair fab indie music - I think it's a monthly thing. Will be back to check oout the beer garden in June.

It had been closed for a few weeks but popped down there to watch the footy at the weekend and cant believe what a change it has undergone. It looks like the inside have been completely ripped out and they have started again. It has a bright clean feel and really looks big after the refit. Good range of beers, wines and spirits and really good food. Friendly staff who seem to know what they are doing and like there music. I think this place could be a surefire hit with the student world and locals .It also has a late license. The barman said they plan to work on the beer garden next which is huge and will be a great place to spend the weekend getting gently sozzled!. This place has huge potential in an area where classy places are short on supply

Went in this pub last weekend for the first time, apparently it's under new management and certainly looks all shiny and new. great open space and nice garden. Was told they have live music nights starting on th 25th so will be back for that- top work

Very scruffy pub. Poorly decorated, but caters for the studenty type. Had a Harveys pump, but no Harveys.

Two pool tables and lots of Tellies. Smelly trough style toilet with tiles missing, empty paper towel holder, no blow dryer - very unhygenic.

Not worth a visit.

Very much the typical student bar usually with the accompanying loud music. All the usual lagers but no real ale. Reasonably priced good quality typical student type food (e.g. burger & chips), although I do remember a member of the kitchen staff nipping to the costcutters next door to buy some tinned pineapple for my hawian burger one time!

Also worth mentioning (since it's not in the description above) that there's also a reasonable pool table (1)

New management, new staff and a very friendly atmosphere.

Definitely a must for watching sports on the HUGE screen! Good range of beer - didn't try the food.

Although slightly off the beaten track I will definitely visit again.
