18 Sep 2015 15:03

Sizable pub with a with largish outside seating area. Beers available were Bombadier and Wells' Eagle, both of which were acceptable.

18 Sep 2015 15:00

The Old George, Stony Stratford

In my opinion this is the best pub that we visited in stony stratford, the landlord, staff and customers were friendly; the pub is traditional with a nice feel. I indulged in a few pints of 'Hop Goes the Beagle', brewed by gun Dog Ales, and thought it was very nice.

18 Sep 2015 14:40

The Bull Hotel, Stony Stratford

Seperated from the Bull by an alley is a pub called The Vaults, it is actually part of The Bull but very different in character. It serves 6 real ales; 5 regulars and 1 guest, on our visit to Stony Stratford the guest ale was Wychwood's Bountiful which we had a few of. The ale was well kept and the regulars seemed friendly enough.[This review is of The Vaults, The Bull only had 1 ale on; Black Sheep]

The Triangle Tavern, Lowestoft

Large range of Green Jack beers plus two guest ales on our visits. Sign in the back bar said 'Hippies please use back door, no exceptions' but I had already entered via the front door and only saw the sign when I nipped out for a ciggie. Staff are friendly and helpful as are the locals. Pub with character, I enjoyed my visits.

28 Sep 2014 18:42

28 Sep 2014 18:25

The Joseph Conrad, Lowestoft

Pretty good pub, good range of beer and the food is of a high standard. The only drawback is the location of the toilets, upstairs in another bar which on our visits was closed or hosting what seemed to be private parties.

19 Sep 2014 14:00

Hearts of Oak, Lowestoft

Beer is a bit pricey: £3-70 for a pint of Old Speckled Hen, spacious pub with a decent smoking area.

19 Sep 2014 13:56

Blues Bar, Lowestoft

Located down a side street this pub is furnished with musical instruments and other music associated fixings. Smoking area has adequate seating and the staff and customers are friendly. Best of all, a pint of Adnams Broadside cost £2.09.

18 Sep 2014 19:03

The Eagle Tavern, Lowestoft

This pub is currently closed.

18 Sep 2014 18:58

The Priors Oven, Spalding

This is possibly the most unusual pub I have ever encountered, the downstairs room is a corridor around , I think, an octagonal bar. I reckon that 20 customers would fill it; although there is an upstairs room. Having said that, the ale was good & the barman very friendly. It would seem though that there was only one toilet for use by both sexes. Overall a pub I would recommend.

18 Sep 2014 18:57

The subdued lighting on our last visit did not do it any favours, prefer the other Wetherspoons in town, The Acorn.

21 Apr 2014 14:51

Decent ales, not a bad pub but due to layout can get congested; better to visit early in the evening before it gets too full.

24 Sep 2011 15:15

The Alex, Bognor Regis

Recently visited Bognor, this pub has character, well kept [if a bit pricey] real ales and a secluded smoking area. Not a bad pub, probably one of the best in Bognor.

The Brown Cow Inn, Dalton in Furness

The brown cow serves a varied selection of real ales which are well looked after, it is popular with people who like to eat out; and since the introduction of the smoking ban has a sizeable beer garden/smoking area.
