An excellent canalside location not far upstream from the sadly neglected brick kilns is this epitome of all things Great Britain in the second decade of the twenty first century. Part of the 'Sizzler' chain (quite), it's a 'family friendly' kind of place that one is surprised to not see a Travelodge attached. The food was below average in truth although at least the pie was a proper one and not a casserole with a pastry lid. Avoidable if it were not for the prime location as the nearest pub up the canal from the centre of Milton Keynes.

I've eaten there a couple of times, and while it is not a place to blow your socks off, it's okay. Especially if they have special offers on.
Would recommend the pound of pie, as that never fails to please, and you can normally get a decent pint of Guinness Red.
Does attract the younger lager drinkers on Friday/Saturday nights, but not in sufficient numbers to make it unbearable.

Part of the Sizzler chain the food was cheaply priced but the portion sizes were also small ,so not real value for money. At least there was some real ale available and Young ordinary was OK.Quite a few young lads swilling lager but not in sufficient number to cause an aggressive atmosphere.Dull establishment.

Whilst the food is great value, the service and the quality of the food is appalling.
I took my fiance and two-year old daughter for lunch in the afternoon, midweek and whilst it was not busy, I was surprised that a double burger, chicken/bacon club sandwich and scampi could be cooked and served in under five minutes. All became clear when my fiance cut through the chicken to find it pink all the way through. We called the manager over to complain and that is where the fun started. To cut a long story short, the manager said there was nothing wrong with the food and that it was only a vein!?!? He then went on to rave about what a good cook his wife was. Naturally, I tried to point out that this was not satisfactory and that I would speak with the local health authority. Then he turned on me, telling me I was rude, abusive and suggested that I couldn't have gotten very far in life with that attitude. At this point he ejected from his pub and we collected our refund on the way out. Suffice to say, I won't be eating there again, but I will ensure he receives a visit from the men in white coats; no, not the mental health authority!
