Made it on a quieter afternoon - wasn't worth the effort. A hipster joint with only two ales on... ELB Vanilla mild and Taylor Landlord. Give the Landlord a try but it is just a pale bland imitation of the beer it once was.

gets too busy and manic and getting served becomes such a struggle that you give up.

Cavernous and massively gentrified, service was nonetheless pleasant and a scotch egg to die for. Beer options were acceptably wide without being exciting.

This large ex crap hole of a pub is now very trendy , I understand it sells good food but it’s the appreance in the Good Beer Guide for the last couple of years that had me visiting on a Tuesday night visit for the first time.

From the 8 hand pumps there were 4 ales and 1 real cider on. My pint of Purity Ubu was okay but I’ve had better pint’s of this ale before. Cracking interior with lots of restored features including the very attractive tiled bar spelling out the name The Grafton, in addition there’s wooden flooring throughout and large windows.

This visit was made on pub quiz night which most of the pub were participating in. I didn’t venture up to the garden area, it’s a really nice pub but very trendy and not as homely feeling as the ‘Admiral.

Still another one ticked in the area.

Great pub - loads of room, loads of beer choice and the landlord was wonderfully kept.

Recommended.

The Grafton is a large pub near to Kentish Town West station. It has a large room downstairs with a central island bar. I went upstairs to see if it was any quieter. But it was busy there too. So I went back downstairs and propped up the bar. Ales were Sambrooks Wandle, Purity Mad Goose, Timothy Taylor Landlord, Moncada Notting Hill Amber & By The Horns Stiff Upper Lip. Cider was Westons Rosie's Pig. Supposed to offer a CAMRA discount. But I certainly wasn't offered it. But nevertheless a fairly nice pub.

Very nice, very nice indeed. I'd walked past this place a couple of times in the not-too-distant past, but had always been in a rush to get somewhere else and as such not been able to pop in even though it looked very tempting. Finally on Saturday evening I found myself in the area and with an hour or so to spare, so I persuaded my mate to take a chance on a bit of a stroll off the route to our destination ( a gig at The Forum) to check it out and my decision paid dividends.
The exterior looks like a grand old corner pub and the interior is a light and airy space with lots of nice plain wood furniture to nurse your pint at. They seem to have done a good job of the difficult juggling act of maintaining some of the best features of a classic old pub building (the half-tiled/half dark-wood bar) and more modernizing touches. The pints you relax with can come from their range of real ales (the two we tried were both very quaffable),a regular range of bitters and ales or their fairly standard lagers. There is also a fair old wine list range of spirits and mixed drinks on offer. Prices are surprisingly affordable for this kind of pub in this area and service was first-class. All in all thoroughly pleasant, and highly recommended.

Quiet in the main but staff were polite and on the ball. 8 beers plus cider and keg avaliable plus the usual fizz. All the 4 beers I tried were good. No complaints

it really is an excellent pub. However, it seems a shame that it needs to 'bend the knee' to the local (and not so local) boho yuppies. (is there such a cohort?) I can barely write this review due to the weight of the chip on my shoulder. Hey, the pub is thriving and is going to survive, so I'm going to stop moaning.

Attended the official launch last nite , an interesting pub run by a lovely young couple with a very effecient manager . It has a large island bar with a coffee machine and a display cabinet for hot snacks neither of which appeared to be in use as yet .Six real ales on offer Landlord , two from Adnams and three locales .I had the Hackney best bitter which was superb , London Fields and ELB were also on offer .For lager drinkers Camden town Helles and Estrella Damm were the alternatives to the three mainstream available .Draft Guiness and Symonds cyder were the others on keg .Bottled beers from Camden Town , Brewdog, Brooklyn, Sam Adams , Goose Island and Modelo were available . Soft drinks for the designated driver included Fentimans and Bottle Green . A good selection there was also wines and spirits and Pipers crisps . The only thing i could find slightly wrong was the fact that the bar was too highly polished allowing your drink to slide away from you this can be easily rectified though. There were well over 150 people at the opening but the eight bar staff were coping helped by three very large doormen . The clientele were a mixture of locals and young trendies , two senior members of North London CAMRA were seen at the bar . The scotch eggs and pork pies were most enjoyable i think this is an improvment on the previous incarnation , it's now just called the Grafton.

Pub reopened yesterday following a refit and new management. Up to 6 real ales and one permanent keg. Very nice food on at lunchtime, and my pint of East London Bitter was perfect. Some of the partitioning has gone leaving the pub feeling larger and more open, all drinking areas served from a central island bar. Rather liked the two-tone green decor. Friendly staff seemed keen to ensure everyone was enjoying their pint and were comfortable.

Agree with some of the below, both positive and negative but this is the Pub I use if I'v got a day off during the week. They do a good happy hour (12-4) so you can while away an afternoon and allmost have change out of 20.Sure it feel's a little tired and worn around the edges, not unlike we the patrons. But if your looking for that cliche an old fashion boozer come along.

As Strongers says, this has a rather bare look to it and is a rather depressing pub. It's a large pub with a central serving area. No real ale as far as I could see. I've never found it a very friendly place.

I think that the refit has left it looking a bit bare, but it is still better than what I can remember this place being like. I found the barmaid to be friendly and as only standard draught was available I ended up with a Stella which I thought was just passable.

There is a pool table around the back of the bar and a dartboard to the right of the entrance as you walk in. There are also a few portable TVs up on the walls for the showing of Sky and Setanta.

This is another pub in Kentish Town that seems geared towards the residents, and there is nothing wrong with that except that I am not a resident so will not be returning.

Decent beer albeit over priced, reasonable service, clientelle friendly.

A hangout for geezers and drunken Irish OAPs but I've never had any hassle in there. They have Newcastle Brown and it's a decent place to watch the football. (Two TVs and a big screen)
