Not all that, but there's worse. Bit on the expensive side if you compare it to other pubs in the area (which are nicer to drink in). Toilets are a bit dingy as well

Such a shame! A pub that was once great is now such a dive. Sadly it was always owned by idiots but they had the good sense to hire good management and staff, this good sense has fled an left them with a real flop. It is probably now worth the effort to head further in to town.
The music is appaling and the beer is awful (clean your lines)Soma no longer have the happy friendly team of old. Such a waste...

lush bar, new management are taking it places - i wandered in with some mates.. made our own dancefloor - space disco all the way provided by you-me soundsystem - wicked and bad!

The best pub in the area by far, it is a relaxed, nice looking bar with a homely feel. In fact I am recovering after all those Mojitos last night, great fun.

Popped in there on a thursday for a quick drink and ended staying all night thanks to the great atmosphere and tunes - drum n bass with a difference - nice

A relaxed ambience, friendly and efficient bar staff and funky music make Soma the top choice for a great night out in the East End! Especially if you can catch the StreetLevel gang at work DJing every 2nd Saturday of the month. Get yourselves down there!

Nice bar, nice staff, nice atmosphere, varid crowd (not *just* students) and great music. Try out the third Sunday of every month for some cool tunes. If you don't like what you hear you've got cloth ears.

agree with all the above - a really great bar, top staff, great DJs and decent prices. mysteriously it's often not very busy either so you can always get a seat!

Went there Thursday 27th May for Smooth Selektionz launch night. Nothing but the funkiest, vocalist laid back drum and bass beats all night long from the talented Dj SilverHaze ! Wicked night.....will be back again on 10 June 2004 for Smooth Selectionz Pt 2 !

i love soma! The music policy s fantastic and the cocktails are consistent, dont go as much as Id like to, but I think that Soma is east londons most underrated bar, as the music and the customers are freindly as are the staff. Great little place, and gives some of Hoxtons offerings a real run for thier (overpriced) money.

What a fantastic place! I have been drinking here for a few months now and I'm totally impressed. friendly atmosphere and even friendlier staff. great cocktails and the music is brilliant. All up I'd say its the best pub in East London!

I have only just discovered this little haven in East london. A well nice little bar...Thursday is drum and bass night...thorougly enjoyable. Top staff....great DJs...decent priced drinks...wot more could you ask for?

Paul (5 April) clearly does not know what makes a good bar...Soma works brilliantly in Stepney with a good crowd, excellent djs and a cool vibe. Keep it up guys!

Tis funny seeing the older clientelle trying to get to grips with the notion of a pint on a bean bag. Why is the seating so ridiculously low? you're chin and your elbow almost touch when sitting down. Music's all right and the decor is like a yuppy arty loft conversion, all in all no huge shakes
