please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

The Young's Ordinary & Sharp's Doom Bar were supplemented by Courage Best on our visit. The beers may have been nothing special. But this is a great little backstreet boozer in Walton with some friendly customers and owners. One of my favourite pubs in a pretty poor selection we sampled in Surrey.

new manager so paid a visit. Two cask ales, Youngs & Doombar, both absolutely top notch. No cooked food but fresh rolls, very reasonably priced. No kids, sports on tv, very friendly. Proper pub so come on CAMRA - give this place an award !

Best pub in Walton - as mentioned in another review, the beer is fantastically well kept and also over a pound a pint cheaper than The Swan (a ludicrous place) and The Anglers (marginally better). Nothing at all bad I can say about this place.

Homely little pub halfway between Walton High St and the Thames.

Old fashioned decor and 5 hand pumps. Of the 4 beers on there were 2 young's a Courage Best and Sharp's Doombar. The Doombar I had was perfect.

Decent little back street pub, televisions on showing both football and rugby, no children all in all nice and pleasant for a pint.

Old photo's of the local area on the walls.

Didn't see any food, but four ales - not the most exciting ones but well kept and more cheaply priced than at nearby establishments. This is quite a small place, and both crowded and noisy when there's music on, but at least it's a proper traditional pub.

Went in here on Sunday after having and expensive pint in the Angel by the river. The same drinks were 1.60 cheaper! this is a trad pub frequented with what appeared to be locals. No kids which was a real bonus. Still had the grainy Sky TV. Then the landlady bought out loads of food. We assumed it was for a private do by she then told us we could tuck in! Amazing!

Come here if you want a proper old school pub that does a decent pint of Youngs or Courage Best. If not then go to the Swan over the road

Don`t know if this is the norm but wife and friend called in for lunch - 3.50 for packet soup and slice of supermarket bread - not good!

A nice little tucked away boozer with a bit of a dirty feel inside, but don't let that or the grainy Sky Sports picture put you off. A nice pint of Youngs Special and friendly staff and locals, this is an ideal hideaway if you just want to forget about the world and have a good drink.

I agree with richmel, the place feels a lot different now with Dermot at the helm. A good mix of people and great service from Derm and his staff, well recommended.

Although Sally, the landlady for 20 years (who sadly died this year) is greatly missed, all the regulars still frequent, Dermot (the new manager) is great.
He makes sure the Best is still Best, the food is excellent, there are quizzes, Bar-b-q's etc. Very friendly people despite the old image of the Manor where everyone stares when you first walk in. Far from it, they will introduce you to all and sundry. Regulars from many different backgrounds makes for interesting conversations. Well worth a visit!

My type of pub. A small, old-fashioned locals boozer. Unfortunately my pint of London Pride, though drinkable, was a bit warm and tired.

Very small pub, approaching the River Thames. Despite a limited drink choice, the staff are friendly, the pub is clean, although fairly old style. Not much room to move, but a nice, slow paced local.

Morris friendly!

I can see what people mean about "cliquey" - I got that impression also. Having said that, this is a charming little pub. Very old fashioned, and I actually thought it was very nice. I will certainly return for a second visit.

Fortunately I missed Jim Davidson though.

Very clicky pub, if your not recognised you will be watched by all and sundry. Good place to go if you want to meet Jim Davidson

Was in last week for a spot of lunch, excellent food, not to busy and lovely service. There was a new lady helping with the food Cynthia, or Celia or something like that, very flirty, very gorgeous, will definately be back to see her!
