please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Visited this pub again just before Christmas and it was the first time I'd set foot in there in a few years. I am glad to say that the pub has not changed at all.

This is a large imposing Fullers house located in the industrial part of Greenford. It is in my humble opinion by far the best pub in the area. Greenford has seen a fair few pubs close in recent years and there are now limited options. There are a few Irish bars which I have nothing against however, these are never going to win any awards from the campaign of old bloaters for their real ale. There are also 2 pubs with wacky warehouse soft play attached to them and there is no further comment required for these. So this leaves The Black Horse!

This large pub is an oasis in an unattractive area. If you are out the front you are aware of your surroundings however, inside or out in the canal side garden you could easily be somewhere far more rural.

I had a couple of pints of ESB which I thoroughly enjoyed. I wasn't served this in the ESB glass as the previous reviewer was but this is maybe due to the fact that as I am reasonably young, the barmaid may just have assumed I would want a straight glass (oh how wrong she was)

This pub also remains a boozer that shows the football so it not completely geared towards food as a lot of other Fullers establishments are which increases its rating for me.

All in all I definitely recommend this place which is also well located a very short walk from Greenford station. I hope they just keep doing what their doing!!

only reasonable pub in the area. but being a fullers pub the beers are druinkable but boring.

standard fullers branding inside, lots of tables and the football is shown

The Black horse is a Fullers pub on the bridge just up from Greenford station.

8 pumps on the bar that had just 2 ales on which were London Pride and ESB. My pint of ESB was very good and served in a proper ESB marked handle pint jug, extra points scored for this! Full range of Fullers bottles also available.

I came in just before 4pm on a week day but as its a large pub the pub felt quite empty though there was a few punters in.

Large projector screen at one end of the bar and a smaller tele at the other.

There’s the addition of a lovely looking garden by the canal to the rear and side but it wasn't the right weather to sit out in.

Good honest locals pub and another tick from the 2014 GBG for me.

The guy with the ponytail has gone - not that he caused us any problems. Beer is excellent. Very friendly establishment.

Seems to be in an industrial area of Greenford, not far from the station. With the big garden and canalside location, this is probably more of a summer pub. But the interior is comfortable with plenty of TV screens showing Sky Sports. Beers are from the Fuller's range - London Pride, ESB and HSB were on last night.

Visualy stunning pub in the lesser walked streets of Greenford. The pub inself is huge, existing on 3 levels with a beautiful terrace over looking the canal and a large garden.
Just a short walk from Greenford station i heavily recommend visiting this pub there are none nicer that i've seen in london.
The only blemish is when my friends and i visited our evening was mared by the rudeness of the bar-man. The guy with the ponytail and beard. He was consistantly and incredibly rude and should not be working there. A real shame cos otherwise this place is perfect in every way.

A gem of a pub sitting on the canal in Greenford. Good Fullers, large comfy bars inside and a huge garden. You simply don't notice the industrial estate on the main road. I like to come here by bike along the canal and sitting on the terrace or lawn with a pint of Pride and a packet of nuts (for the salt <g>) is a great way to cool down.

I haven't tried the food but the menu looks interesting and a little out of the ordinary.

Recently reopened following a refurbishment. Still going to be great for summer drinking, however it's pretty decent inside with loads of space over 2 floors. Food's still bland standard fare, but the beer's pretty good.

Currently closed for refurbishment so do check it's reopened before visiting in early 2007.

Nice in summer, you can sit out by the canal. Not worth coming out for on cold winter nights. Gets very noisey on match nights. Could do with a refurb.

Not bad, quite quiet when I was there, but it was midweek. The guy on the bar seemed bored, but you can't blame him.

I wouldn't recommend this pub to anyone. Bar staff very unfriendly when I went for no apparent reason except just didn't enjoy doing his job.

I have been cominhg here on and off for 8 years as I live locally. The food is of variable quality depending on the chef (there seems to be a high turnover of pub managers and kitchen staff). The portions used to be bigger - and always used to include fabulous slabs of bread that you cut at your table (with every order). The decor getting a bit tired and shabby from the refit 7 or so years ago now.

However the beer is always good and there is a choice of bars, the terrace or beer garden.

Quiz night at about 9:30 every Thursday, which is about the hardest I've ever been to, but good fun.

Been going a while and the food can go up and down in quality and quantity. Seems to be good at the moment and the portions are large!

This is a really great spot if to bring your friends, family etc.. a great friendly, warm feel about the place. A country pub feel about the place. A massive beer garden and a veranda as well. It's situated right next to the canel and you'd never even thing your near the industrial part of Greenford. And the beer is great too! Highly recommended.
