The Swan, Enford

Classic, attractive, beamy, country pub on Avon Valley back road,. Owned by co-op of local residents for the past six years or so. Good food, range of drinks, and value with attentive, helpful staff.

The Red Lion, East Chisenbury

Good food. Reasonable value. Attractive. Not large. Tucked away on Avon Valley back road. This pub was completely refurbished around 2000 by owner John Manser, retired chief of Robert Fleming Bank, who lives next door in Chisenbury Priory. It initially offered up-market wine bar fare but has adjusted its prices and range to a more practical level which now wins broad appeal.

The Antelope, Upavon

24/3/07. Very good reasonable value food until c. March 2006. New tenants who then came in did not compare well with their predecessors and left at the end of February 2007. Temporary tenants are now in place awaiting new permanent appointment by Wadworths.
