The Red Lion, Northend

The Red Lion lives again! It's reopened this week (12th August), and looks to be back to its best again. John the new landlord has painted the place, given it a floor to ceiling cleaning, and has turned it back into the nice village pub it once was. Apparently, he used to run a small successful hotel / restaurant / bar in Somerset, so certainly has the right credentials!

Beer is very good, with Old Hooky & London Pride the current guest beers. We've eaten there a couple of times and the food is great - good quality, well cooked steaks, well presented. Apparently a second chef is starting in a couple of weeks, and then the menu will be extended and advertising will start.

Opening night saw half the village turn out to see the new (old?) place open again, and it looks as though it'll soon be as popular as it was a couple of years ago.

Good news for the residents of Northend.
