The Kings Arms, Oxford

Sorry should have been clearer, and I see your point: my main complaint was the pricing. The food costs pretty much the same as anywhere else, even if it's far from wonderful. I've had better, cheaper beer elsewhere in Oxford but I suppose you're paying for location as you say.

The Isis Tavern, Iffley Lock

Very decent food in a superior setting. The only thing that let this pub down when I was there was the drinks on offer. Go for lunch and enjoy the view.

The Rickety Press, Oxford

Charitable institution devoted to the promotion of meat consumption: there is a fresh meat raffle after the pub quiz and the food is almost certainly the cheapest in Oxford. In fact it's so cheap you could probably afford to taxi here and back and still feel it was good value for money. The drinks seem to subsidise this altruistic distribution of meat, but are tasty enough. Good roomy pub with great atmosphere. Worth checking out. The food is by the way tasty enough, and comes in large portions. Vegetarians, students and locals all well-catered for.
