It's changed hands (very shortly after Wharflad's posting, I think). New landlord+lady very welcoming. The snooty "�15 and extra charged for your veg" food went out with the previous people... now instead there is very high quality pub food in the �6 to �10 range for complete main courses. But no way does the food ever "squeeze out" the drinker here... it is very much a drinkers' pub well supported by the villagers plus the folk who make a worthwhile journey from Harlow or Stortford. Constantly on are Woodforde's Wherry and Adnams Bitter; there is a rotating third beer.

The Half Moon, Bishop's Stortford
Following a glass-throwing incident that allegedly led to a serious injury (recently reported on the front page of the "OBSERVER" local paper), beer is being served in plastic glasses on nights apparently deemed risky (i.e. when there is live music attractive to the young end of the drinking population).
