The Nags Head, Walthamstow

Best thing about the Nags Head is the facade. Inside it looks a bit like a student bar with funny cafe tables and an attempt to create an arty atmosphere with black and white poster prints. Not sure what all the fuss is about with this one. I agree its less smokey than The Village but not half as much fun or atmosphere.

The Goose, Walthamstow

In its favour this pub has well kept beer, and a no smoking area and is convenient for the tube. However, the pub is let down by miserable bar staff and dirty tables. Handy place to meet someone for a beer or two, or for a cheap lunch but wouldn't want to spend an evening there.

The Victoria, Walthamstow

Have often walked past this pub because it looks a bit odd from the outside. The entrance is on ground level and the actual pub is on the first floor. Tried it our the other day and was surprised by friendly bar staff and interesting poster memorabilia on the walls. Beer selection was pretty average and the pub was a little too well lit for my liking, which doesn't do it any favours as it's a little run down. Not a bad place to stop though if you're looking for a drink or two somewhere near Walthamstow tube or market.
