The Seven Stars, Chancery Lane

Proper pub, this one, in an area where you'd least expoect it. Great beer, great atmosphere, but I've bought shoes that came in boxes bigger than this place. Don't bother trying to get in after work, it's futile. Leave it couple of hours, though, and it's a great little place.

The Blue Anchor, Chancery Lane

I work next door to the Blue Anchor, and it used to be a regular friday lunchtime haunt for us. The food was good, if unremarkable, they had a small selection of well-kept ales, and the staff were friendly. Then they changed management, stopped doing lunchtime table service, the beer turned sour (quite literally), and we started going elsewhere.

However, in the last couple of months, it seems to have picked itself up a little. At least, the beer is drinkable again.

Livebait, Holborn

Has recently closed down. It's now a Bertorelli's italian restaurant (and not a very good one, at that).
