The Red Lion, Shepperton

The Red Lion is currently being run by Paul & Brenda, who are "proper slandlords" they know how to run a pub ! The real ales are consistantly excellent, the wine is chilled and the food is to die for.
The menu is varied and cooked fresh by Paul, generous portions, presented beautifully and is very tasty. They cater for everyone from steaks, fish of all sorts, pies, ham, egg n chips' liver and bacon with REAL vegetables to a wonderful carbonnara (with or without bacon) the prices are very reasonable and the specials board is varied. Paul (the chef and landlord) has a real passion for food and this shines through in his cooking. The Sunday roasts are lovely and as for the puds, well - gorgeous.
Monday & Tuesday is Fish n Chip nights, haddock & chips plus an onion or gherkin at ONLY 5.50 with mushy peas as an extra. Its wrapped in paper and you can eat in or take it away for the same price so why not have a pint while you're waiting for it to be freshly cooked. I guaranatee you cannot find better in the surrounding area. The fish is fresh, the batter light and it just melts in the mouth - absolutely fabulous. Lastly, but not least Paul does an excellent Sunday roast.
Brenda is a lovely bubbly lady who makes everyone feel welcome and always has time for a chat. She runs a clean, tight ship where all are welcome whatever your age but manners are to be remembered and foul mouths are discouraged.
If you want a nice pub to have a pint or a meal in where families can come and dine without worrying about the pub enviornment then this a place you can come to with no worries.
All in all the landlords have really breathed life into the pub. There is live music once a month which is a great hit with everyone. An active pool team and a great bunch of regulars and no we're not clicky we like new people coming in.
There is plenty of space for proper parties or more formal sit down parties and there's still room up the other end of the pub for us who just wish to embibe.
Come down and see for yourself ...
