The Magpie and Crown, Brentford

Hi there Simon from 3 men in a pub here. My friends and I have been drinking in the pub on Thursday evenings for around 2 years now. In this time both Steve and Gordon have become friends partly through having mutual interests with me and partly through the fact that they are friendly people who have time for anyone interested in what a pub is for ie. the consumption of alcohol not loud music and karaoke nights. The quality of the beer is without question and even though the place could do with sprucing up a bit it still has many many times the charachter of places like the Weir(d)(well thought of Pandora)or the Fire Station. Also if you do drink the bitters you don't need a second mortgage to pay for a round.
All in all this is a pub that does exqactly what it says on the tin, serves high quality reasonably priced beer in a friendly atmosphere with loads of charachter (and charachters). Anyone who is put off by the negative comments on this site I'd suggest you try the pub.If you come in on a Thursday I'd recommend taking part in the quiz it's brilliant!

The Plough, Norwood Green

I can't beleive what has happened to what was the friendliest pub I knew when I was younger. The old landlord (Dave?) was always friendly and over the years changed and expanded the pub to make it a first class establishment that I would have rated 10 out of 10. How the mighty are fallen. I must pop in for a pint before the current landlord leaves to see for myself.

The Lord Nelson, Brentford

This establishment has some of the best food in the area at extremely good prices. The beer is well kept and in the good weather the garden is a pleasant relaxed enviroment. I'd recommend anyone to give it a try.
