The Glass House, St Albans

Now a well-run and comfortable pub. Usually 3 ales, Deuchars, Pride & Black Sheep on my visit, and reasonable food throughout the day. 3 screens for the footie addicts, surprisingly pleasant garden out back. Clientele seem to have had a makeover as well, so pleasant atmosphere to match the decor.

Que Sara, Heanor

Now reverted to the Crown, less keen on attracting the young crowd, and beer selection has improved immensely. Usually Marlpool Scratty Ratty at 2 a pint, and 3 other local brews such as Blue Monkey. Very good value cobs and snacks, and also do Sunday lunches. Excellent staff, know what they're doing, nice to chat with if not too busy. Another GBG entry for Heanor next time?
