The Red Lion, Weymouth

As a regular visitor to this pub i know for a fact it has nothing to do with Punch. I have also been told the reason it is not listed in the Good Beer Guide is due to the fact the local Camra guy is not allowed to bring his dog in.....how petty is that?? I'm thinking the previous poster is that same person. I find it strange that The Good Pub Guide list this pub as the only highly recommended pub in Weymouth and GBG have no mention whatsoever but they do list every Wetherspoons in the country. You wouldn't have to dig too deep to see where their priorities lie...........

just spent the weekend in weymouth for the seafood festival and the saturday was cancelled due to the monsoon. so instead i spent an excellent afternoon in this transformed pub. what a difference the refurbishment has given it....its so cool i could have been in london or manchester. it was packed with rain soaked visitors but everyone seemed more upbeat with the comfort and selection of beers and spirits on offer...the food was excellent too. just brilliant!! Slerpy i reckon you drank too much beer in the other pubs which gave you double vision....its not a managed house as the free trade sign outside would indicate.

wow,can't believe the change in this pub.came down last winter and it was dank and bare......my god what a back bar they have now.....its like they have every rum and whiskey under the sun....great selection of ales too.best bar in weymouth by a country mile
