The Vine, Bursledon

I am pleased to report that The Vine Inn, is back on track and reinstated itself as the community pub it once was! Phew, we missed it! The locals have returned, along with much welcome footfall! The pub epitomizes the experience and atmosphere of a classic village pub, which unfortunately, is a dying breed these days. It is now under new management, who are clearly experienced, friendly and welcoming! As always, dogs are very welcome!
I am not a beer drinker, but I have been told that the beer quality has improved no end!
Dining is back on the menu! I can highly recommend the Sunday Roast, which is fresh and tasty! It is reasonably priced at 9.95, but a smaller portion is available at 6.95. You will not be disappointed, a wonderful roast dinner with home made puds!! A classic pub menu is served form Tues- Sat, (Sun - Roast only).
The Sunday meat draw is still in full swing @ 4pm and the Tuesday quiz is at 8.30pm!
The revised opening times are: Sunday 12-6, Mon Closed, Tues 5-close, Wed,
Thu 12-2.30, 5-close, Fri 12-2.30, 5-close. (The opening times are kept up to date on the pub chalkboard).
It is wonderful to see the soul back in this old pub!

STOUTCHAPPIE, I did not understand your response. I have put my opinion on here, which I'm entitled to and do not wish to have childish retorts from people who cannot write the Queens English!

Old Ship, Lower Swanwick

Went to this pub the other Saturday night for a bite to eat. It was around 7.30pm and a lot of the choices on the menu where finished. One of my friends was told his meal had finished and had to choose something else, just after we'd finished our starters! Then he was told to pay the difference, which we thought was shocking as it was their mistake!!
The chicken tikka starter & sirloin steak was very nice, although others were disappointed with their meals, finding meat tough and fatty. There was also a mixup with some orders, which involved a bit of sliding food from one plate to another, no hassle, but annoying as the pub was not busy. Unfortunately the pub is not as nice as it looks on the outside. I was expecting some real old world charm, but it had the look of your average harvester, and our table was dirty.
