The Kings Arms, Waterloo

I like this pub but when I was there recently the staff were surley AND slow. I was on the side with the smaller bar. It wasn't particularly busy. There were 2 girls serving and a guy collecting and washing glasses. I stood there, and I stood there, then a guy joined me and we both stood there waving our cash and trying to get eye contact whilst people on the other side came and went. Then 'Danielle' finally came over to us and asked the guy what he wanted! Fortunately for me he gestered that I was first (not always the case these days). Then when she served me she skipped him and asked a girl who'd just rolled up what she wanted.

I know noticing who comes to the bar is a skill but jeez it's a skill these guys need to learn.

And I needed wellies to enter the toilet. I only hope it was water!

The Prince Regent, Marylebone

I like the decor, and it has potential but it is true what other say it takes ages to get served. I've never noticed the glasses but I bet I do now.

The clientele can be a bit up themselves too, you know the type pushing past without saying excuse me, Metrosexuals pushing in front of us ladies at the bar. The bar has no control over that mind you.

However, management could have done something to deal with the ventilation during the recent refurb. I'm quite used to cigarette smoke, as my friends do, but it's a long time since I came out reeking like an old ash tray like I did last Tuesday my coat was unwearable. The manager whoever he/she is could do something about the music. Why in a noisy pub, are the bar staff allowed to crank up the volume whether it's their favourite CD or the live duo doing covers? Just turn it down a bit pleeeese, people go to a pub to talk to each other. You don't get an "atmosphere" from a bass beat.

I'm not selling this pub am I?
