The Bald Faced Stag, East Finchley

Oh dear. Another boring old pretend independant gastro-pub, which really is a chain. Uninspiring decor, nothing new...chocolate brown walls, brown sofas, brown tables...Zzzzzz. Same old same old. 10 minute wait at the bar - the bar wasnt packed?! Staff predominately scruffy scatty students. Food was good, and price not too bad but god, it took ages to arrive, and when it was, it was delivered by some snotty nosed Australian lady who was more interested in gossiping/arguing with her work colleauges. All in all - 3/10 decor. 2/10 service. 7/10 food. Ambience...well, it certainly wasnt created by the waiting staff.

Monkey Nuts, Crouch End

Been here a few times. More of a restaurant/bar than a pub. Great DJ on a wednesday night. Had some fantastic food here - great steak and burgers. Cocktails are delicious and there is an interesting mix of bottled beers. A bit pricey but worth it for the quality. Service really friendly. Recommend it to anyone!
