The Kings Head, Burgess Hill

The local council in the area have an agreement with regards to the number of public houses with a late license. Burgess Hill is lucky to be given 2 the Kings Head and The Junction. Both of these have live music Fridays and Saturdays with a license until midnight in both locations.

The Kings Head is the better of the two - more space to see the band (unless it is a popular band in which case standing room only).

While it is true that some of the music is suspect (e.g. Tar Babies play Beatles covers which is not my scene) it is one of the few places for a late drink and a 'possibilty' of a decent band.
Staff and service is usually pretty prompt and they have quizes, pool and darts nights during the week (but no late license).

The landlord does have some problems with the locals in so much that the noise has to be kept down and a lot of bands conform to this. However there are a couple of rock bands that do not (e.g. Dropzone, Sonic Oblivion and No Way Out).

For the town - if you like live music (be it good, bad or unheard off) then this is the place to be.
