The Quarter, Horsham

A resturant rather more than a pub, plain and unpretentious, ie lots of tables laid up for dining but a couple of bar stools at a small bar. We went in early on a Friday without booking and although it was busy we were found a table. We were short on time but the staff were welcoming and the service was very friendly and reasonably quick, food was good and plentiful. I will probably go back there for a meal. The beers are mostly bottled euro lagers which is fine for this sort of place and the only UK beer was bottled london pride.

PS They also have a take away menu that looks like the dining in menu.

The Mucky Duck Inn, Tismans Common

The beer is good, the bar staff friendly without being pushy, the locals are friendly and welcoming. A good traditional pub with a selection of acceptable but admittedly pricey food. If you are worried about animals as per the other posts then don't eat there.

Fox Inn, Rudgwick

As other comments, we used the 5 offer and had to sit inside, not in the garden on a beautiful day. The food was fine but staff were not welcoming or communicative, this was to the extent that one of them managed to shut the door in the faces of two elderly ladies who arrived just after us; the person serving us maintained a stony expression of indifference at least, bordering on irritation at our presence - or was it at our audacity to use the special offer?
