The Duke Of York, Belfast

Simply great bar. Narrow, but long room downstairs with a side room which is opened in the evenings. A lot of pine. Third room upstairs used as a disco.

Really nice for an afternoon session, when it isn't too busy. Also good in the evening, but it does get PACKED Thursday to Saturday nights - although the side room can help you avoid this. Don't be surprised if you can't get in after 10.30pm.

As has been said, loads and loads of whisky and whiskey, Including Dunville's and another brand in giant glass dispensers in the side room. Also the Guinness is really good here.

Complete mix of people. Everyone welcome, never any bad atmosphere and friendly staff. It is just an excellent establishment.

Not too easy to find, but definitely worth the effort.

The Half Moon, Putney

Well, the toilets are working now. They were a necessary change. Some of the other changes were not.

It is clear that the Half Moon management have fought hard to stop Youngs/Wells vandalising this pub in the same way they have to so many others in the area. There is still too much of that mauve/grey paint for my liking and they have removed the old long tables.

The pub has lost a little bit of atmosphere, but this is still an excellent pub with great beer and staff. Thank God the Half Moon has not gone the way of the Horse, the Duke's Head, the Halfway House and the Duke of Cumberland [where the nightmare began].

The Duke On The Green, Fulham

I am rather surprised by some of the previous comments. This is a good pub. It has a large open area at the front, which suits large groups. It has tables running next to the bar and in the back area that suit small groups. The decor is nice, with wood and vintage tiles predominating. The beers are good, with a usual range of Young's. The only food I have had is Sunday lunch, but this cannot be missed. It is a really great meal. Make sure you go there hungry! All in all, this pub is a quality place to relax and meet friends, it also suits if you want to bring a crowd. It beats the Hell out of the Sloaney Pony accross the Green and Aragon House down the road.
