The Charles Dickens, Southwark

Me and two other real ale enthusastists recently did a bar crawl in the Southwark area with the good beer guide as a guide we visited all those listed and looked into a few others left ..quickly, until we popped into the Charles Dickens its a gem friendly staff six real ales i had a pint of junction ale from sam brooks brewery it was SUPERB .. best pint i have had in a long long time went back the next evening but unfortunatly they had sold out but had a few other pints real ales inc Harveys Ale and finished off with Umble ale all well served and delicious great pub well run !! how its not in the good beer guide surprises me and i am amases me..!!! I wish the Dickens was a local of mine but alas i live in Clapton area..!

best pub on the southbank not pretentious just down to earth great pub fantastic food terrific choice of real ales just how a real pub should be and oh yes grest lanlord and terrific staff
