The Blue Anchor, Lancaster
Why, oh why has The Blue Anchor changed its name to the ------ what? 1725?
It was the Blue Anchor for DECADES.
It makes you wonder whether the Brewery - no, sorry the " Leisure Properties Incorporated " or whatever they are called that are the owners of this formerly
fine, olde establishment that lies in the Heart of this " Historic City " REALLY
KNOW what they are doing - or are they being led by-the-nose by their Company Section that routinely refurbs every one of their premises regardless of whether it need doing-up - or not doing up.
Hey, the costs of the refurbs go onto the price of OUR drinks /food - so why not ? After all - they have kids & mortgages too......
But that's not really my concern - the quality of drink, & of the food & the clientele - IS , however.
A totally pointless move - and for continuity go & look at York in the "The Shambles " area. The pubs etc etc there DO NOT get refurbed every 3rd year or whatever -- and the place is buzzing with Tourists looking for an Olde Worlde vibe .
