The Edgcumbe Arms, Cremyll

Truly horrific experience. A stone in the salad, a small hair in the crab and, the tipping point, a huge 6 inch hair in the lasagne (something I did not manage to keep down). When we complained politely we were treated with contempt and were quizzed suspiciously. We did not ask for a refund, it was offered but then swiftly followed by more questions and disbelief leaving us feeling very embarrassed.

A quote from the landlady "It is highly unlikely that three things could be wrong with your dishes but I am still going to give you a refund". I didn't give a monkeys about the refund, all I was after was a polite apology - something I still didn't receive. On account of the fact that none of the staff in the food preparation area were wearing hairnets and the total lack of acceptance of any blame, I have to say, I have reported this matter to Caradon District Council and the Food Standards Agency.

Hehe....bistro you say ? I do know that Brian is trying to win back his Michelin star via the exotic rolls and only stocking Dark Chocolate Bountys in the fridge to cater for the more refined palette.
