The Prince Of Wales, Princetown

Pub is grimy inside and out and needs general decorating. The landlord is actively unwelcoming if you are not a local and shuts the kitchens when he feels like it. I have not been back since the second occasion when we went in for food well within the advertised time and were told that the kitchens were shut, on one occasion because they were busy and on the second because they were quiet. In contrast the Plume of Feathers down the road is reliable and welcoming.

The Plume Of Feathers, Princetown

There was a problem for a while with the landlady however this appears to have been resolved. Staff are now cheerful and helpful, beer is excellent, Food is good and well cooked although a change of chef means that it is not as imaginative as it was last year.

The Railway Inn, Princetown

The Railway Inn is now only a hotel, owned by the Plume of Feathers next door. The entire place has been refurbished and the rooms are now bright and pleasant with excellent bathroom facilities. Price is a little high 85 for a double for B&B. Breakfast was nothing special but plenty of it.

Food and beer next dor were good, atmosphere pleasant.
