The Lemon Tree, Covent Garden

Visited here on Friday night. Was pretty busy but i got served quickly by a friendly barman. Nice to find a pub like this in the area that is not full of gimmicks or takes an age to get a drink. Very friendly atmosphere on a summers evening with local office workers drinking outside. Will definatley go back soon!!

The Rose and Crown, Southwark

Having been a regular at the rose and crown for 4 years I am really disappointed in the changes it has undergone recently. It has been sold and a new owner taken over along with his miserable bar staff and dog wandering about the bar.

Visiting this weekend I was appalled by the state of the place- filthy! The bar was sticky, glasses everywhere, the loos looked like they have not been cleaned in weeks. There was no music on and the place had zero atmosphere- very unusual for a Friday night.
It also took me over 10 minutes to get served a flat pint. I was not the only one unimpressed, I know many regulars who won't be bothering with this place anymore. Especially since they have got rid of the amazing Thai food. I certainly don't fancy risking a dog hair in my burger from the new menu!!

Very sad, the previous owners were always friendly, It was a welcoming, clean place and I really enjoyed having a drink there. Time to find a new local I think.
