The Queens Head, Rye

Taken over in May 2010 by a group of real ale enthusiasts who want to present Rye visitors and regulars with an alternative to piped bangin' choons and Sky Sports. Live music definitely a part of the offering.

Welcoming landlords and bar staff. Good selection of interesting beers on tap, including an intriguing dark lager, pub games (though no oche for the dartboard!), plenty of varied spaces including a quiet area with books and board games. Characterful decor (basically black, white and dark red with interesting hand-painted decorations).

The rooms are still being refurbished; pricing for B+B is a little high but when work is completed on the rooms they promise to offer plenty of interest and character.

Definitely out of the ordinary and worth a visit.
