I live in Wapping, East London, but occasionally venture further afield in search of interesting pubs and bars. My local is the Town of Ramsgate, and I love it, though there are some excellent bars elsewhere in London, and some of the other local pubs aren't too bad.

Very small pub, but nice if you fancy a game of pool or darts. Most nights I've been in its been empty though, which is a shame, except for when the hockey crowd come in, when it can get quite busy.

Lovely large pub with excellent views over the river. Not a great fan of Sam Smiths drinks myself, but the lager is passable. The landlord has a great memory for faces! Well worth a visit if you're in Wapping.

The White Swan and Cuckoo, Wapping
Slightly hostile atmosphere at times in this pub, as I don't drink there regularly. I suspect it would be warmer if I did. The landlady is nice and keeps order (which I suspect she has cause to do at times). Elvis impersonators and I once went to karaoke there, though I don't know if they do that anymore. Shame about the decor - the blue makes me think of a public toilet.
