The Heron on the Lake, Fleet
Date visited: New Years Eve
Food: Excellent, tasty & good sized portions. Downside couldn't hear any music whilst we were eating.
Service: Very good indeed. Friendly & helpful staff.
New Years experience: Average. Disappointed in most of the music (although to be fair the older folk would no doubt have enjoyed it), but my main bug bare was the bad introduction to the New Year. Poorly executed count down (my watch said we were early!) & then no Lang Syne. Would it take make much to put a radio on, get the count down & Big Bens chimes? Even better would be to project Ben Big & the New Years fireworks going off onto a large screen. Because of this anti climax it felt like any other night & expensive one at that!
