The George, Wanstead

Oh dear. Calling all chavs, your kind seem to gather here and drink piss-water (or 'Beer' as it is labelled on the girly bottles). As long as we can round them up in one place, they won't spread. If we all group together here people, we can fight this horrible disease that is misusing the sacred institution of the proper British Pub and cull the lot of them. They seem to gather here, so avoid and either go further into the East End or out to Essex. Nowhere in-between is acceptable.

The Hung, Drawn and Quartered, Tower Hill

Very Nice. Good atmosphere, friendly and efficient staff, space to sit if you avoid the 'city' hours (1:30-2:30, 5-6). Working at the Tower, this is a nice place to have at your doorstep. Long live the HD&Q.

The Cove, Covent Garden

I first came here in the summer of 2006. It was a nice pub, where you could have a good chat with friends and the service was perfectly fine. Since then, I presume the ownership has changed hands. It now plays crap music at the highest volume, which means you'll be lucky to have a conversation with yourself let alone anyone else. Above all, the service here is absoulutely ridiculous. You will no doubt find yourself standing at the bar for 4 or 5 minutes whilst the bar staff chat amongst themselves. A terrible waste of a fantastic location. There are several beter pubs in the area, go somewhere else.
