The Three Guineas, Reading

Big pub. Part of rail station. Lots of ales. Not many ale-drinkers. The newsagent inside the station sells cans...

The Alehouse, Reading

A fantastic pub. The only truly decent ale pub in Reading. Rude staff, you say? I have always found that if I'm pleasant to people they will extend the same courtesy to me. In fact, as the beers change so often (they recently had their 4000th guest beer) I rely on the advice of the staff as to what to drink. They have always been charming. And I've never had a bad pint either.

The Blue Posts, Soho

Proper London boozers are now rare. For this reason, one should enter The Blue Posts as if visiting a museum. This also alleviates the guilt associated with spending an entire afternoon quaffing Guinness.
