The Artichoke, Croxley Green

Went in today for the first time since the restoration, and its met my expectations!

After being bought by The Feathers, the team have restored it to its former glory and created a warm feel inside. We didn't eat as we were just passing by, but the menu looks great; large family sharing platters, baguettes, even a seperate menu for dogs!

The garden looks great, the front of the pub finally looks acceptable and the staff look happy and excited to serve you. Just as the Feathers, they serve a range of guest ale's and have introduced 'Kirin', a japanese beer which was lovely.

Will be going in for food soon no doubt, hopefully the shoddy 4.1 rating on here will rise and rise.

The Feathers Public House and Kitchen, Rickmansworth

Well, what a difference this is to a few years ago!

This pub is exceptional. All of the reviews here seem to concentrate on the price, but if that's too much for you then there are plenty of other nice pubs around too.

You pay a hefty price, but I doubt theres another pub anywhere within the county that offers such good service. We came in for lunch and hadnt booked. Upon hearing that it was my sister's birthday, one of the staff ran down to the nearby cake shop and bought a birthday cake. Whether this seems standard service to them or not, the staff couldn't have treated us any better. I'd much rather pay for good quality than get cheap rubbish.

The four of us shared a mussels starter for four; a huge bowl of mussels in a ceramic pot drizzled with white wine sauce, and then the waiter Chris informed us that the fish is sustainable and locally sourced; another great reason to dine here! For mains, I had a pork belly over a bed of rosemary mashed potato - a lovely twist on a pub classic, and my sister ate the inked seafood linguini.

We shall definitely be returning to The Feathers!
