Mericet, absolutely agree with you that the Nags Head is a gem of a pub.

Can't agree that the south is the place to be for real ale though. Get yourself upto York if you want to see a proper real ale town. :)

Fantastic alehouse with the best range of real ales I've ever experienced in a British pub. As a northerner who thought the best the south had to offer was London 'dishwater' Pride the local ales in the Nags Head never fail to deliver.

They also have a good range of lagers for the wives and girlfriends of the real ale drinkers.
