Oh no... cant believe Garfield is gone!!!

I have been using the Landseer for years as my drinking hole. Its friendly, warm and serves a nice pint of well kept bitter. Usually got some nice looking staff too. Up until recently i used to go a bit further afield when i wanted a great feed though.

Atlast however Tom the owner (i know because he was in last night) has turned the conservatory into a proper nice dining space, and not just the same tables, chairs, decor etc with glassware, and has hired a real chef.

They are having some teething problems i hear, but my food, on a quiet monday night, was delicious. I ordered fishcakes from the bar menu. Slightly poncy presentation but you dont taste the looks, and boy did it taste great!!! I hear they do a great roast too, although apparantly the kitchen had had to close this sunday just gone... those teething problems???

Oh well. Steps in the right direction and well worth a visit for some great food, from a quality looking menu. Long overdue. Shame having this place so close as i could be spending more and more time here!!!
