The Green, Clerkenwell

Nice place, leffe on tap, friendly staff and ended up eating there instead of going home. Had a lovely three course meal upstairs in the dining room and a bottle wine. I left feeling rather satisfied. But a little lighter i the pocket than I planned to be that evening. oh well.

I think this is a terrific place, i can't understand how it gets mixed reviews..i went there first after reading a glowing report of their new restaurant in Angel magazine. we had a truly excellent sunday lunch, the building looked beautiful and full of light and there was a guy playing honky tonk piano. I've been back a few times and far prefer a place like this thats really trying to do interesting food in a relaxed environment than all the bars on Upper street put together although the last time i had dinner there was last week and both floors were full so we had to wait half an hour for a table ( but it was friday night).
