if you fancy a proper irish experence, not the commercialised fakes like O'Neils gives, go to the goldsmiths.craken irish pub in penge and lets face it most pub in penge are something to be desired, from the likes of the market taveren (a.k.a.The DIRTY HSE)the Queen Adelaide (Home to all the loop lou's of penge)Crooked billet (just plan rough) The Royal Oak (would someone put it out of its misery and convert it to flats PLEASE). i think the moon and stars speaks for its self, its a weatherspoons pub, another commercialised company, destroying pubs in britain as we know and love them, with the cheap, bad beer, p#ss poor food and staff who'd rather be anywhere else. when it comes to Pubs in Penge the Goldsmiths is most definately the Diamond in the rough.

A great pub, as for the comment made by 'CHAVSUM', you'r obviouly one of the druged-up scum that were cleared out of the place over two years ago when the present managment took over. Its far from plastic, how can a pub owned & run by an IRISH person be described as PLASTIC.The drink might be a little more expensive, but at least your getting value for your money, good beer, nice CLEAN comfortable surroundings, friendly staff. il gladly pay an extra 5p or 10p for my pint.
