This is the best(only) boozer left in the area. The other pubs have all gone gastro, snobby, full-of-themselves type places.
I have been living in the area for about 5 years and this pub is constantly improving - manager, staff, beer selection and menu!
If you want to have a fun night out, The Elgin is the place. If you don't like sport though, avoid football games.

The Mitre, Holland Park
Nice pub but the service is a little slow and the staff can be unfriendly at times. Very quiet during the day time but the bar can get quite busy in the evenings.
The food is great but there is never any ale on! I loved their fish & chips!
