The Crown, Broxbourne
To redress the balance visited just for a beer. Admittedly this was on a quiet afternoon, but the new barman was welcoming and I tried the guest ale, top of the hops which was pleasant. The pub has been spruced up and little touches such as candles on the tables gave it a welcoming atmosphere.
