Well, I've been going here for nigh on 15 years. What I like is that you can have a conversation here because there's no loud muzak. If you're on your own on your first visit it might seem cliquey because you can actually hear other people's conversations, so you might feel excluded. Try joining in. The staff and customers are friendly, interesting and happy to chat. Add to that the most consistently good beer and value for money in the area, and, to me at least, it's the perfect local. PS - you can get 4 pt, minipin and polypin takeouts at even better prices. I regularly do!
