The Evening Star, Brighton

This pub has deservedly got a reputation as a fine free house but a word of warning. Check the price list when you actually manage to reach the bar.
Brodies Citra is a superb 3.1 abv session beer but here it's in keg or top pressure form which I didn't realise until after I ordered.
I thought I'd misheard the lady behind the bar as it was so noisy but they wanted £5.20p a pint! That's totally unacceptable and uncalled for.
I'm afraid it will be a good while before I visit again.

The Bricklayers Arms, Putney

My visit yesterday was my first for well over a year. Very disappointing. Not particularly busy and the range of beers seemed to consist of Cotleigh, Cotleigh and Cotleigh. That atmosphere which made this pub great was totally missing. I won't return in the foreseeable future.

The Cat's Back, Wandsworth

I visited yesterday afternoon and it was very quiet. The licensee introduced herself and she was most welcoming and courteous. Early days of course and once the word gets around CAMRA circles trade should pick up. Good location close to the Thames and Wandsworth Park. The Harveys Best was in lovely condition. The best I've had for a while. Well worth a visit.
