The Punch Bowl, Mayfair

This wasn't a good pub before the refurb and Mr Ritchies involvement and it's not a good pub now. Choc full of wannabee high society slebs and pretentious characters. It takes an age to be served incredibly expensive beer and you more or less have to stand outside as there's no room inside.

Avoid.

Kings Head, Mayfair

The Kings Head or Shelly's as it's know to a lot of local workers, is a standard boozer. It has a decent range of ales, including some interesting choices - but quite often they are not kept very well which is a shame and you do get a poor pint fairly often. This pub is always busy due to it's location but is well staffed so it doesn't take too long to get served and is fine for a post work drink but certainly not a destination pub.

The Whitehorse, Brixton

I've been a Brixton resident for 3 years and this is my favorite pub in the area. The staff are great - I even play football with one of the barmen, great lad and brings some Brazillian flair to our team. Matt the landlord is a good bloke and the even serve Deuchars which takes me back to my uni days in Edinburgh, some time ago now unfortunately.

This is NOT a real ale boozer, but it is a real good pub which on certain evenings they take the tables out and you can have a dance. Food is very good too. One of my mates goes there so often he gets invited to staff do's! Highly recommended for a good night out. Toilets aren't great but I try not to spend too much time in pub toilets as a rule anyway!
