Top marks to the team who refurbished this pub from the Parkstone into the Cow. Really has a unique, trend setting, feel about it. Ideal starting point for a night out.

The Dorset Knob, Parkstone

For me, the Knob always comes across as a locals pub though the MacDonalds next door may change this. It's good points are that it's trouble free and cosy. But I can't say it's every been a particularly attractive place to visit.

The Woodman, Branksome

Visited this recently after a long absence following a disagreement with one of the local gypsies and the landlord. What a change. Following a refurbishment and a new landlord this pub has definitely changed gear. Still gets many foreign students as customers from what I could tell. I've always liked the Woodman but was put off because of some of the locals who used to frequent. Will be using it as a stop off point in the future. Has a dance floor, eating area and plenty of amusements.
