The Waverley Arms, Nunhead
Just re-opened under new management, and the vibe there has improved immeasurably. Now has a warm and welcoming feel about it, not to mention a great selection of beers. I tried the Dead Pony Club (delicious), Meantime Yakima Red (excellent) and Meantime London Pale Ale (as good as expected) and wasn't disappointed at all. The cheeseburger and chips (only £6!) cooked for me on the BBQ in the back garden were top notch as well, although I understand that the longer-term plan is to have a proper kitchen and a fuller menu in the near future.
Would highly recommend giving this place another try if you live or find yourself in the vicinity.
