The Pigs Ear, Chelsea

Really nice looking place in a great little corner of Chelsea, but the most appalling, rude and unscrupulous manager possible.

We had a table booked for 18 people in advance for a friend's birthday dinner. Most of us landed on time and started on drinks - bar staff was very friendly. But this cocky self-important chap kept pestering us every 5 minutes wanting to give half our table away. Absolutely rude, arrogant and obnoxious.

To top it all, he insisted on us having to pay a minimum 40� for a set menu - something that was never mentioned at the time of the booking. In spite of all of us remaining calm and polite, he became aggressive and suggested it was not his problem and if we didnt like it, we could leave. So needless to say, we left, went to a neighbouring pub, had a great dinner and evening and left our suave manager at the Pigs Ear with an empty table for 18 people for the night.

Shame, how one person - especially the person apparently in charge can completely ruin a good pub and a special evening for its customers
